Choose from a variety of measures

KORE's Energy Efficiency Incentive includes a variety of measures to choose from, including insulation, boilers, heating controls upgrades and renewable energy measures. Insulation includes external wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, roof insulation, floor insulation, and internal wall dry lining insulation.

The incentive also includes discounts for full window replacement, window glazing envelope replacement, window glazing low E film and external door replacement.

You could also choose from high efficiency gas or oil fired boiler replacement, fully integrated heating controls, remote access controls, biomass boilers, heat pumps, solar water heating installation and power flushing of your heating system.

You can find a full list of the included measures here.

What kind of discount will I receive?

The amount you'll receive will depend on the type of house and the measures you choose to have installed. Electric Ireland offers different amounts for each measure depending on whether you live in a house or an apartment. For example, new cavity wall insulation will earn you a discount of €260 for a house or €164 for an apartment. You should also see a reduction on your energy bills moving forward as your usage decreases. Here's a list of the energy efficiency discounts.

How much is the discount worth?

The amount you'll receive depends on the energy efficiency measures you have installed in your home. Each measure is worth a different euro amount depending on the type of home (apartment or detached house, for example). Measures range from new insulation (cavity wall insulation, roof insulation, external insulation), new heating systems, renewable energy solutions and even windows and doors. You can view a full list of qualifying Electric Ireland measures to help you make a decision.

Keep in mind that you're not just limited to one measure. You can avail of any of the measures offered, as long as your house was built before 2006, you're an Electric Ireland customer and the contractor agrees that the measures are suitable for your home.

A free, no obligation on-site survey can help you decide which measures are right for you. You can find a full list of participating KORE Approved contractors on the Electric Ireland Incentive web page.

How will I receive the discount?

The discount is paid directly on your Electric Ireland electricity or gas bill. You must use an Energy Efficiency Partner, such as KORE, to qualify for the discounts. To start, a contractor will call to your home to survey the house and explain your options. You'll receive a discount directly on your bill after the works have been completed and paid in full. The approved contractor will submit all relevant information on your behalf, and you'll receive an email confirmation and credit on your monthly bill within 10 days.

What are the eligibility requirements?

To be eligible for the Electric Ireland Incentive you must be a new or existing Electric Ireland customer. In addition, to qualify for most of the discounts your house must have been built before 2006. You cannot receive a discount for measures that have already been installed.
