KORE is pleased to announce our new lower thermal conductivity bonded bead, KORE Fill Diamond Cavity Wall Insulation. KORE Fill Diamond is for use in cavity walls with a width of at least 50mm.

KORE Fill Diamond is a bonded bead cavity wall insulation system that offers a lower thermal conductivity of 0.033W/mK. KORE Fill Diamond is NSAI and IAB Certified (Cert No. 07/0293). You can view and download the KORE Fill Diamond Delcaration of Performance Certificate for more information.

KORE Fill Diamond Cavity Wall Insulation System

Many homes across Ireland the UK are built utilsing the cavity wall construction method. Cavity walls are built with an inner and outer leaf (wall) with a gap, or cavity, in between. Cavity walls are typically masonry construction made from concrete block or brick. Cavity wall ties are installed between the two leaves to connect to the walls together.

Cavity walls are designed so that rain water and moisture do not transfer from the outer leaf to the inner leaf - especially wind-driven rain. Unfortauntely, while cavity wall construction works very well at keeping rain and moisture out, many older homes were built without adequate levels of cavity wall insulation, if any at all.

KORE Fill Diamond Bonded Bead Cavity Wall Insulation easily fills cavity walls with a minimum width of at least 50mm. As the insulation is pumped into the cavity from the exterior of the home, disruption to occupants is minimal and installation is completed quickly.

  •  Immediate savings on heating bills
  • Complete insulation fill everytime
  • Excellent thermal properties
  • Specialist insulation installers
  • Suitable for new and existing buildings

KORE Fill Diamond Offers a Complete Cavity Wall Insulation Fill Every Time

KORE Fill Diamond Bonded Bead ensures a complete cavity fill for every application, new build or retrofit, utilising the KORE Fill approved drilling pattern relevant to the construction of the building.

KORE Fill Will Not Absorb Water or Moisture

KORE Fill Diamond Bonded Bead is completely water resistant and will not absorb moisture. Any water that penetrates the outer leaf will drain down the cavity without any transfer to the inner leaf. KORE Fill will not retain moisture.

Offering a Nationwide Insulation Installer Network

KORE offers a nationwide KORE Fill Installer network. Every installer is SEAI and NSAI approved to install KORE Fill Diamond Bonded Bead along with a wide variety of other insulation and energy efficiency measures.

KORE Fill Diamond is Installed Quickly with Minimal Disruption

KORE Fill Diamond Bonded Bead is installed quickly. Installation times vary from a few hours to a few days, depending on the size of the home, the width of the cavity and local environmental factors. Most retrofit applications can be completed in just a few hours.

KORE Fill Diamond Reduces Heating Demand

KORE Fill Diamond begins to work instantly. Occupants should feel a noticeable difference in the building's ability to retain heat during the winter and its ability to stay cool during the summer. The final U-value will depend on the size and construction of the cavity.

KORE Fill Diamond is Sustainable

KORE Fill Diamond is made from expanded polystyrene, a sustainable material. KORE Fill Cavity Wall Insulation will last the entire lifetime of the building and can easily be recycled at the end of the building's useful life. Recycled EPS can be used as insulation or moulded into a variety of other products.

The KORE Network is a nationwide installer network that is approved and certified to install KORE Fill Diamond Bonded Bead Cavity Wall Insulation. Only contractors that have been approved by KORE, SEAI and NSAI may install KORE Fill Diamond Bonded Bead in both new build and retrofit applications.

What is the difference between KORE Fill and KORE Fill Diamond?

Both products are part of a bonded bead cavity wall insulation system that provides a complete fill every time. KORE Fill Diamond provides a lower thermal conductivity than original KORE Fill (0.033W/mK compared to 0.035W/mK). This means you can achieve a lower U-value using the same amount of material. For example, a 150mm cavity filled with KORE Fill Diamond can achieve a U-value of 0.20W/m²K, compared to 0.21W/m²K with original KORE Fill.

Due to the oval shape of the bead, KORE Fill Diamond is suitable for use in existing wall cavities with a width of at least 50mm. The dense packing of the beads within cavity walls may cause issues when installing KORE Fill Diamond in cavities smaller than 50mm. Plese contact our technical tem for more information or to discuss your project requirements.

What is the lowest U-value achievable?

The U-value is only limited by the width of the cavity. The wider the cavity, the lower the U-values are possible. New builds should be designed and constructed to allow for the lowest U-values possible following industry best practice and Building Regulations.

Does the bead look the same?

KORE Fill Diamond is slightly different than the original KORE Fill bonded bead. KORE Fill Diamond cavity wall insulation is oval bead rather than round and is dark grey in colour.

Is KORE Fill Diamond tested?

Yes. Flow rates of the blown bead and adhesive are tested by the installer prior to installation. A hessian bag is filled with dry bead for 60 seconds and then weighed. The weight of the bead is recorded and the proper amount of adhesive is applied to the bead to ensure proper bonding. This procedure helps ensure that the stated U-values are achieved after the bonded bead has been installed within a wall cavity.

Does KORE Fill Diamond require professional installation?

Yes. KORE Fill Diamond must only be installed by a certified and approved KORE Fill installer. The KORE Network is available in every county in Ireland, making it easy to find a professional installer close to home.
