KORE Warmer Homes Scheme
KORE’s retrofit department works closely with SEAI on a number of schemes, including the Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme. This scheme provides free insulation and energy efficiency upgrades for homeowners in receipt of certain entitlements. This includes Fuel Allowance, Jobseekers Allowance, Working Family Payment, One-Parent Family Payment, Domiciliary Care Allowance and Carers Allowance.
KORE Retrofit has upgraded homes nationwide under this scheme with a variety of measures, including cavity wall insulation, attic insulation, external wall insulation, and in limited cases heating systems and windows & door upgrades.
Deep Retrofit Pilot Programme
Since 2018, KORE Retrofit has been involved with SEAI’s Deep Retrofit Pilot Programme. This scheme assists homeowners in the deep retrofit of existing houses by providing grants of up to 50 percent.
The Deep Retrofit Pilot Programme requires homes achieve a minimum BER rating of A3, and a minimum uplift of 150 kWh/m2/yr. In addition, the scheme requires the use of renewable heating systems such as heat pumps, and will not fund oil or gas-fired boiler upgrades.
KORE is not currently accepting applications under this programme, however, those interested in retrofit works in the domestic, commercial or community markets may qualify for funding under the Better Energy Communities Scheme. You can learn more by clicking here.
Better Energy Communities Scheme
KORE has managed four successful Better Energy Communities Schemes in 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The projects include energy efficiency retrofits in a variety of building types, including residential, community organisations and commercial businesses.
SEAI’s Better Energy Communities Scheme includes a wide range of upgrades including insulation, heating systems, solar PV systems, LED lighting upgrades, EcoDrive training among others. Measures are determined on a site by site basis.
KORE Retrofit is currently accepting applications for a Better Energy Communities Scheme at this time. You can learn more by clicking here
Better Energy Homes Scheme
KORE and its network of contractors offer the Better Energy Homes Scheme to homeowners with a house built before 2006. The scheme is not means tested and funding is available at any point during the year. Some of the measures include insulation upgrades, heating system upgrades, heating control upgrades, solar thermal system upgrades and BER ratings. Grant amounts are fixed and are based on the type of home (detached, semi-detached etc).
The Better Energy Homes Scheme can be combined with KORE’s Energy Efficiency Incentive with Electric Ireland. This incentive provides discounts on customer’s Electric Ireland electricity or gas bill, further reducing the cost of upgrading energy efficiency measures in the home. You can switch to Electric Ireland at any time to avail of this offer.
