Nearly Zero Energy Buildings Open Their Doors to Public for Fourth Time

by Brian Flax | Nov 04, 2016

For the fourth year in a row, owners of Nearly Zero Energy Buildings will open their doors and invite interested parties inside for a look around. The annual event hopes to inspire visitors to aim for similar low energy building standards for their own projects. The NZEB Open Doors event showcases a wide range residential and commercial properties scattered across the country, making the event accessible for nearly everyone.

When is this year’s NZEB Open Doors Event?

The 2016 NZEB Open Doors event will take place 11th – 13th November across the country. Those interested in viewing properties are asked to book their place on the NZEB Open Doors website. There are limited spots for each listed property, so make sure to book the places you’d like to visit early.

Owners of low energy buildings who would like to be added to this year’s event can easily join by uploading their listing on the NZEB Open Doors ‘Exhibit Your Property‘ website.

What properties are available to view?

From an A3 rated housing development in Co. Wicklow to a two-storey, 34-apartment EuroPHit project in Rochestown, Co. Dublin, there is something for everyone at the 2016 NZEB Open Doors Event. Visitors can browse through over 40 listings of both residential and commercial projects that will be opening their doors to the public.

The annual event, supported by SEAI and Electric Ireland, is also seeking volunteers to help throughout the weekend of the event.
