KORE Flat Roof in Detail

This detail shows a typical warm flat roof construction with 100mm KORE EPS100 White. The structural deck may differ depending on project specifications. For warm roofs, the waterproofing membrane must always be placed on the top of the insulation, and the vapour control layer must always be placed on the warm side of the roof (below the insulation).

KORE’s technical team is always available to help answer any questions and provide guidance for your project.

Flat Roof Applications with EPS

kore-flat-roof-insulation-warm-roof-v2

Standard Warm Roof

KORE Flat Roof EPS for warm roof applications is installed over the structural roof deck and the air and vapour control layer (AVCL) and immediately below the weatherproof covering. The roof deck is maintained at or close to the building’s internal temperature throughout the year, and liquid applied waterproofing system often act as the external finish.

Inverted Roof – Shiplap Sheet

KORE Flat Roof Inverted Roof Boards are suitable for use on inverted flat roofs or zero-pitched untrafficked roofs, and balconies and terraced roofs subject to pedestrian access only, with gravel ballast or paved finish on a suitably designed timber, concrete, or metal structural deck and appropriate fully supported waterproofing system. KORE Inverted Flat Roof Boards are also suitable for use with a green roof finish.

Metal Roof Deck – Corrugated Sheet

KORE EPS Flat Roof Corrugated Sheets are designed to match the shape of metal sandwich panels, metal or concrete roof decks, ICF wall blocks, concrete floor panels and more. These bespoke boards are profiled to suit specific shapes and are available in a range of densities.

Tapered Flat Roof – Tapered Sheet

KORE EPS for tapered flat roof reduce or eliminate the amount of standing water or ponding on the membrane when the roof deck does not or cannot provide adequate slope. By incorporating tapered insulation into a flat roof, KORE EPS allows appropriate water channelling to drainage outlets and reduces the risk of standing water. It also negates the requirement of a structural fall, which helps reduce the overall cost of the roof and installation time.
