KORE is proud to announce a remarkable double win at the 2025 Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards, held last Thursday in Dublin. The event marked a significant milestone for the company, with both KORE Insulation and KORE Retrofit taking home top honours for their outstanding contributions to sustainable innovation in the built environment.

KORE Insulation Wins for Low Carbon EPS

KORE Insulation was named Winner in the Construction Product Innovation – Building Fabric category for its ground-breaking Low Carbon Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). This next-generation insulation material is setting new standards for sustainable construction, offering exceptional thermal performance while significantly reducing embodied carbon.

KORE Retrofit Recognised for Passive House Retrofit Project

The celebrations continued as KORE Retrofit was awarded Winner in the Fit Out or Refurbishment – Up to €10m category for its Passive House Bungalow retrofit in County Monaghan, led by Barry Mc Carron FCIAT. The project demonstrates how deep energy retrofits, when paired with Passive House principles, can deliver ultra-efficient, climate-resilient homes that support Ireland’s national retrofit goals.

“Our team puts an incredible amount of energy into driving Ireland’s climate action goals through both product innovation and project delivery,” said Barry Mc Carron, Managing Director of KORE Retrofit. “To be recognised with not one, but two awards is an honour and a testament to the dedication and expertise of the entire KORE team.”

Recognising Excellence in Irish Construction

The ICE Awards are Ireland’s premier platform for celebrating excellence in construction and civil engineering. KORE extends its sincere thanks to the judges and organisers for an exceptional event and congratulates all fellow finalists and winners on their achievements.
