KORE Insulation Champions Safety During the CIF Construction Safety Campaign

Over the past two weeks, KORE Insulation took part in the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Construction Safety Campaign, joining organisations across Ireland to refocus on the fundamentals of health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.

This year’s “Back to Basics” theme encouraged teams to strengthen daily safety habits and communication across all operations. At KORE Insulation, we rolled out a series of activities designed to engage staff, improve awareness, and reinforce our shared responsibility for safety.

Suggestion boxes were placed in the office canteen to gather feedback on how we can continue to improve safety across the company. In the factory, Fergal Harrison led a dedicated toolbox talk, while Tommie Smith hosted a live forklift safety demonstration, helping raise awareness of safe operating procedures. The week also saw three members of our team successfully complete their Forklift Safety Training, enhancing competence and confidence in our daily operations.

We also introduced a “Pledge Your Safety” initiative, encouraging every employee to make a personal commitment to safety. Meanwhile, two members of our maintenance team attended the Electrical Safety Seminar in Dublin, approved by Engineers Ireland for six CPD hours, gaining valuable insights into safe working practices, lockout tagout procedures, and arc flash protection.

To support Spinal Injuries Ireland, we hosted two coffee and breakfast mornings, combining important conversations about safety and wellbeing with fundraising for a meaningful cause. The campaign concluded with a lively PPE Challenge, where employees competed to gear up the fastest a fun but effective reminder that safety starts with the basics.

At KORE Insulation, safety is not an annual theme it’s a core value embedded in everything we do. These two weeks provided an opportunity to recognise our collective efforts and reaffirm our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, proactive, and supportive workplace.
