For nearly two decades, Caroline Ashe Brady has played an important role in developing KORE Insulation and KORE Retrofit. As Commercial Director, she has drove significant company growth, developing innovative market strategies, growing a winning team and forging key partnerships that has expanded KORE’s customer base. Caroline has ensured that the company implements international, third party certified standards to improve efficiency, ensure quality, drive our digital and sustainable strategies, so that we can enhance customers satisfaction and continue to grow. This processes have provided the bedrock for growth for the company.
She is also a certified Passive House Consultant and has contributed to industry leadership through her involvement with the Small Firms Association, Microfinance Ireland, the Passive House Association of Ireland (PHAI), and the National Insulation Association of Ireland. In 2024, she was appointed Chairperson of the Passive House Association of Ireland.
Supporting Sustainability in Construction
Caroline has been involved in various initiatives that promote sustainability and innovation in construction, including:
- Supporting KORE Retrofit in securing government tenders, including SEAI’s Fully Funded Energy Upgrade Programme (formerly the Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme).
- Developing innovative solutions, including Ireland’s first NSAI-certified insulated foundation system and securing multiple NSAI and BBA certifications for KORE’s products.
- Enhancing sustainable manufacturing by introducing the Biomass Balance Approach with REDcert2 certification and adopting voluntary CSRD reporting.
- Contributing to industry success, with KORE receiving recognition at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards, SEAI Energy Awards, and Small Firms Association Awards, among others.
- Driving industry-wide collaboration, engaging with government bodies and trade associations to improve policy and best practices for sustainable retrofits.
The Co. Cavan Energy Efficiency Project
Caroline has been involved in the KORE Insulation – Co. Cavan Energy Efficiency Project, which is helping KORE move toward carbon neutrality by 2030. The project includes:
- Installing renewable energy solutions, including a 153.55 kWp solar PV array that generates over 145,000 kWh of clean energy annually.
- Optimising energy consumption, with plant machinery upgrades reducing energy use by 143,280 kWh per year.
- Implementing process improvements, such as enhancing the contour-cutting machine, which has reduced energy consumption by 42%.
- Transitioning to more sustainable fuel sources, replacing traditional diesel and gas oil with Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and B20 biofuel.
- Advancing research and development, partnering with institutions like Southwest College and InterTrade Ireland to explore new innovations in low-carbon insulation materials.
By aligning decision-making with sustainability goals, this project is helping KORE reduce its carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency, demonstrating the tangible impact of energy-conscious business practices.
Promoting Diversity in Construction
Caroline has also been involved in promoting opportunities for women in construction. She was named Cavan Ambassador for National Women’s Enterprise Day 2023 and participates in initiatives like the Cavan Businesswomen’s Club to encourage greater diversity in the sector.
Her leadership style prioritises collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing, ensuring that opportunities within KORE and the wider industry are accessible to all. She actively supports initiatives that encourage young professionals to enter and thrive in construction and retrofit sectors.
