Meet Leon Creamer, KORE’s Sales Manager for the South of Ireland. With six years at KORE and over two decades in the building materials industry, Leon brings experience, energy, and a genuine passion for people to his role.
From Cork to KORE – A Journey Through the Building Industry
Leon’s career in construction and building supplies began in 2002 with Barry’s Timber in Cork, soon to become part of McMahon’s. Over the years, he gained extensive experience across several leading groups, including the Sherling Group and the Grafton Group, and even managed a tile store in the UK during a brief stint in North Wales. Leon joined KORE in 2019 and hasn’t looked back since.
“I’m your typical Irish home bird,” he laughs, reflecting on his return from the UK. “There’s no place like home.”
Life at KORE
As Sales Manager for the southern region, no two days are the same for Leon. Covering nine counties, he works with a diverse range of customers—from builders and retrofit contractors to engineers, architects, and merchant partners. He’s also deeply involved with both KOREFILL and the KORE Insulated Foundation System.
“Each county brings its own challenges and personalities,” Leon shares. “That’s what I enjoy most—connecting with people, building relationships, and tailoring our service to their needs.”
Leon’s favourite part of the job? “The people. Even the ones from Kerry,” he jokes.
Proud Moments and Shared Success
While Leon is humble about personal accolades, he’s particularly proud of what KORE has achieved as a team.
“One of the highlights has been the installation of our automated cutting and packaging line. It’s a real symbol of how far we’ve come and our commitment to continuous improvement. From the directors to every team member, we’re all pushing in the same direction—to deliver the best for our customers.”
Looking Ahead
Leon’s vision for the future at KORE is rooted in teamwork, consistency, and customer-first service.
“We have no egos here, just a brilliant team. I want us to continue with the high standards we have set ourselves and to keep offering a best in class service, our customers are at the front of everything we do .If we stay true to that, we’ll hit every goal we set.”
Life Beyond Work
Outside of work, Leon is a dedicated sports fan. “Football is number one for me,” he says. He’s a loyal supporter of Cork City FC and spends Friday nights at Turners Cross with his 13-year-old nephew. He also follows the Premier League and recently attended Manchester United vs. Wolves on Easter Sunday.
Health and wellness are a big part of his routine, with regular gym and sauna sessions. “The benefits of sauna use need to be talked about more,” Leon adds. When not at the gym, you might find him on the boardwalk in Youghal or planning his next travel adventure. In the past year alone, he’s explored Rome, Dubrovnik, Thailand, and most recently, Budapest.
Inspired by Family and Football
Leon finds inspiration in the people closest to him—especially his late mother and grandfather. “Family means everything to me. I get up every morning with the goal of making my mother proud and being the best version of myself.”
He also draws motivation from his football hero Roy Keane, living by the mantra: “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.”
Leon credits Tom Holland, who gave him his first job in the industry, as a pivotal figure in his professional journey. “He took a chance on a spotty-faced 18-year-old who didn’t know a 2×1 baton from a sheet of plywood. He had a massive influence on my life and career.
