Creating ‘A-Rated’ Homes with KORE Floor

On this project, KORE are working with one of Ireland’s leading construction companies, specialising in residential properties, based in Dublin. This development is the fifth project where the construction specialists have worked with KORE’s sales manager, Jonathan Malone, utilising KORE Floor insulation that offered ease of use on-site while providing low U-values in a high-performance product.

Located in South County Dublin, this latest new build development consists of 124 units of terraced and semi-detached houses, and apartment units. Offering a variety of two, three- and four-bedrooms floorplans, all properties will be ‘A-rated’ and fitted with high efficiency air to water heating systems.

Homeowners will live in A2-Rated homes, close to Dublin central, as well as quick access to Wicklow, with a variety of major employers within close distance, and shopping and lifestyle amenities nearby.

Choosing KORE Floor to achieve more

When building a new development of A-rated homes, achieving optimal energy efficiency and maintaining high sustainability standards are critical. One of the best ways to ensure these goals are met is by choosing sustainable, high-performing products. To ensure optimal thermal performance, the contractor chose 120mm KORE Floor EPS70 Silver insulation for the floors, achieving an impressive U-value of 0.18W/m²K.

Choosing KORE Floor insulation allows the contractor to reach the nZEB standard for all properties, constructing energy efficient, sustainable homes with the addition of renewable energy technologies such as air-to-water heat pumps.

A-rated homes are not just about energy efficiency but also about reducing carbon emissions. KORE Floor insulation in collaboration holds an integral role in creating an airtight building envelope, reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling. This leads to lower carbon emissions from the building’s operation, making it a great choice for developers aiming to create homes that meet modern environmental standards.

A Strong Relationship with KORE

What sets this project apart is the continued collaboration with the contractor, marking the fifth site worked on together over the past 4.5 years. Originally using PIR insulation, switching to KORE EPS for cost-effectiveness, high-performance,  reliable service with superior thermal performance, as well as the value it brings to their projects.

This partnership highlights not only the long-standing trust between the contractor and KORE, but also the growing trend of using EPS insulation as an effective and economical choice for floor applications in the construction industry. The successful completion of this site is yet another testament to the high standards and commitment to quality that both the contractor and KORE continue to uphold.
